What matters before the feature list.

These field notes explain the product, workflow, and tradeoffs that can change the decision.

Field note

For small teams with work still in motion

Project Continuity Guide is for the person keeping internal work coherent during leave, role changes or a temporary handover. It connects tool choice with the details that often get lost: the next action, a blocked input, a repeating occurrence and the decision someone still needs to make. It is not a client portal, a time tracker or a safety-critical handover standard.

Field note

Start with the missing job

Use the continuity map to identify the gap before comparing software. A shared sheet or free board may be enough. Nifty is a conditional option when connected tasks and recurring work need more structure. Our assessment uses dated public documentation; we have not performed a hands-on product test or measured savings, reliability or profitability.

Field note

Useful work without private uploads

The local cover-capacity calculator, cost worksheet and handover-note builder use your assumptions or fictional process descriptions. They do not connect to an account, send messages, assign people or store private project records. Read the limitations beside each tool, then carry the relevant decision into your organization’s approved process.

Evidence strength

The record is not the result.

A moved date, a new occurrence and an accepted handover are different facts.

Choose the question closest to your situation, then follow the related guides when they help you take the next step.

Check the behavior before choosing.

Read Nifty’s recurring-task documentation and compare Trello’s current free and paid limits. Neither a feature list nor a subscription verifies an accepted handover.

CHOOSE BY THE MISSING JOB

More software is not always more continuity.

What is missing?First route to compareCheck before relying on it
A short, understandable listA shared sheet or simple board.Stable references, a next action and a review owner.
Connected tasks across ownersA structured project tool, including Nifty where it fits.Dependency behavior, current plan and receiving access.
Recurring work through an absenceA clear recurrence rule plus a cover process.Occurrence identity, unfinished work and actual capacity.
Specialist or safety-critical decisionsThe appropriate qualified process.Do not replace authorization with a generic checklist.

Three practical tools. No account connection.

Estimate cover capacity, compare whole-workflow costs, or prepare a non-sensitive handover note. Read the official dependency documentation for product behavior and keep organizational acceptance separate.
