Five Nifty alternatives and their entry prices
The five Nifty PM alternatives most worth a small team's time are ClickUp, Asana, Trello, Basecamp and Wrike. Each publishes its prices, each has a free tier, and Nifty's integrations page lists an importer for each of the five. The table shows the cheapest paid plan on each vendor's own pricing page as read on 3 October 2026. Annual-billing prices are shown where the vendor offers them, with the monthly-billing price in brackets.
| Tool | Cheapest paid plan | Price | Free tier limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nifty | Pro | $10 per member/mo annual ($16 monthly), or flat $79/mo annual ($99 monthly) for up to 10 members | 2 projects, 100 MB, unlimited members |
| ClickUp | Unlimited | $7 per user/mo annual ($10 monthly) | 60 MB storage, 5 Spaces, unlimited members |
| Asana | Starter | $10.99 per user/mo annual ($13.49 monthly) | 2 users |
| Trello | Standard | $5 per user/mo annual ($6 monthly) | 10 collaborators and 10 boards per Workspace |
| Basecamp | Freelancer | $25/mo flat, billed monthly, up to 20 users and 3 active projects | 1 project, 5 users, 1 GB |

- ClickUp. Best for teams that want the most features per dollar: the $7 Unlimited plan lists Gantt charts, native time tracking, goals, portfolios and unlimited storage. Limitation: automations are metered, at 1,000 executions a month on Unlimited and 5,000 on Business. See Nifty vs ClickUp.
- Asana. Best for process-heavy teams: Starter includes forms, unlimited automations, timeline and Gantt views and unlimited free guests. Limitation: native time tracking, goals, portfolios and proofing wait until Advanced at $24.99 per user. See Nifty vs Asana.
- Trello. Best for a simple card board with the lowest seat price. Limitation: calendar, timeline, table and dashboard views need Premium at $10 per user ($12.50 monthly).
- Basecamp. Best for teams that want one fixed bill and built-in message boards, chat and check-ins on every plan. Limitation: active projects are capped at 3, 10 or 25 below the $299 a month Unlimited edition.
- Wrike. Best for teams that want Gantt charts and dashboards with room to grow into resource planning. Limitation: the Team plan is capped at 15 users, and the next tier, Business, is $25 per user.
Where Nifty fits and where it does not
Nifty's distinguishing point is the bundle. Tasks, milestone roadmaps, discussions, team chat, docs and files are on every plan including Free, and paid plans add time tracking, budgets and client guests. Its flat plans also make the bill predictable: 10 members for $79 a month on annual billing works out below $8 each.
It fits less well in three cases. A team of 11 jumps to the $124 Business plan. A team that needs intake forms finds native forms only on the $399 Unlimited plan, while Asana includes forms at Starter. And a team that needs API access must buy Business, where ClickUp lists API calls on every plan. If you are still unsure what the product is, start with what Nifty is.
Which tool to choose by buyer type
| If you are | Look first at | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 2 to 6 people watching every dollar | ClickUp Unlimited or Trello Standard | Lowest per-seat prices in this group |
| 7 to 10 people with clients to keep informed | Nifty flat Pro | One price, unlimited guests, time tracking and proofing included |
| A team that runs on request forms and rules | Asana Starter | Forms and unlimited automations at the entry tier |
| Large or changing headcount, few projects | Basecamp Studio or Pro | Unlimited users for $59 or $99 a month |
| A team that only needs a shared board | Trello Free or Standard | Least setup, lowest cost |
| A team expecting formal resource planning later | Wrike | Upgrade path to capacity planning and budgeting tiers |
None of these is a single winner. The right pick depends on headcount, how many projects run at once and whether clients need access.
Before switching away from Nifty
Moving tools costs more in lost context than in subscription fees. Nifty's terms say content is deleted within 30 days of cancellation and that fees already charged are not refunded, so keep the old plan running until the new tool has passed a real handover. Record owners, due dates, dependencies and open decisions first, using the export and exit checklist, and consider whether tighter habits in the tool you already have would solve the problem instead.
